The liver is one of the most vital organs in the human body, playing a central role in overall health. Here are some key points about the importance of the liver:

1. Detoxification:
  • The liver is responsible for filtering and detoxifying the blood. It processes and removes toxins, drugs, alcohol, and other harmful substances from the bloodstream, converting them into less harmful compounds or preparing them for elimination through urine or bile.

2. Metabolism:
  • The liver plays a crucial role in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. It helps regulate blood sugar levels by storing and releasing glucose as needed. It also converts excess glucose into glycogen for storage, which can be later converted back to glucose for energy.

3. Bile Production:
  • The liver produces bile, a substance essential for digesting fats. Bile helps emulsify fats in the small intestine, making them easier to digest and absorb. This process is crucial for the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K).

4. Storage of Nutrients:
  • The liver stores essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, D, E, K, and B12, as well as iron and copper. These stored nutrients are released into the bloodstream when the body needs them, ensuring a steady supply.

5. Synthesis of Proteins:
  • The liver is responsible for synthesizing various proteins that are essential for bodily functions, including albumin (which helps maintain blood volume and pressure) and clotting factors (which are crucial for blood coagulation).

6. Immune Function:
  • The liver plays a role in the immune system by producing proteins involved in immune responses and by filtering out bacteria and other pathogens from the blood. This function helps protect the body from infections.

7. Regulation of Cholesterol Levels:
  • The liver regulates cholesterol levels by producing, storing, and breaking down cholesterol as needed. It converts excess cholesterol into bile salts, which are then excreted from the body.

8. Hormone Regulation:
  • The liver helps regulate the levels of various hormones in the body, including insulin, estrogen, and thyroid hormones. It breaks down and eliminates excess hormones, helping maintain hormonal balance.

9. Energy Production:
  • The liver plays a key role in energy production by converting nutrients into energy that can be used by the body. It is especially important in the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the main energy currency of cells.

10. Protection Against Infections:
  • The liver contains Kupffer cells, which are specialized immune cells that engulf and destroy bacteria, old blood cells, and other debris. This function is essential for preventing infections and maintaining a healthy immune system.

Impact of Liver Health on Overall Health:
  • Chronic Liver Disease: Conditions such as fatty liver disease, hepatitis, and cirrhosis can severely impact liver function, leading to systemic health issues like jaundice, swelling, and impaired cognitive function (hepatic encephalopathy).
  • General Well-being: A healthy liver supports overall vitality, energy levels, immune function, and mental clarity. Conversely, poor liver health can lead to fatigue, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, and a weakened immune system.

Given its extensive roles, maintaining liver health is critical for overall well-being. This can be supported through a balanced diet, regular exercise, avoiding excessive alcohol consumption, and being cautious with medications and environmental toxins.

Problems with the liver fall into a combination of the Soft Tissue. For Soft Tissue, Dr. Wallach recommends the Healthy Brain and Heart Pack as well as cleaning up the diet.

ULTIMATE SELENIUM™

Selenium - Dr. Schrauzer, an official nominator for the Nobel Prize in Medicine and an expert on selenium, explains that selenium (part of  the Healthy Brain and Heart Pack) is for the liver what calcium is for the bones and that selenium acts as a type of  a “master” mineral to open the doors for the liver to be able to repair itself. For severe health concerns we can use extra selenium. The recommendation for the higher dose is 1 bottle of Selenium per 50 lbs. stopping at 4 bottles a month regardless of weight. By providing higher levels of Selenium, the body is also able to recycle and reuse glutathione. Glutathione is one of the body’s most powerful antioxidant and repair mechanism for soft tissue. Liver and Gallbladder Health
The liver has many functions. Some of the functions are: to produce substances that break down fats, produce urea (the main substance of urine), make certain amino acids (the building blocks of proteins), filter harmful substances from the blood (such as alcohol), storage of vitamins and minerals (vitamins A, D, K and B12) and maintain a proper level or glucose in the blood. The liver is also responsible for producing cholesterol. It produces about 80% of the cholesterol in your body. READ MORE

Imortalium® or Cell Shield RTQ™
Imortalium and/or Cell Shield—The liver is the body’s main organ of detox and the organ that attempts to help the body rid itself of free radicals. Dr. Wallach recommends increasing antioxidants to help make this job easier especially when the liver is damaged. Imortalium and Cell Shield are the two best product for increasing antioxidants in this situation. The typical dose for the Imortalium is typically 6 per day, and the Cell Shield is typically 4-6.

REMEMBER

Dr. Wallach never ever recommends that someone who is very sick do a cleanse in the beginning. This is because while the cleanse is removing toxins--it is also removing vital minerals and the detoxing process is reducing the energy available to heal. These are two things that the very sick person absolutely cannot afford, Dr. Wallach explains. His suggestion is to take all 90 essential nutrients (and the add-ons), clean up the diet, and wait at least 90 days or until you see significant improvements in your health before undertaking a cleanse.
